WHAT IS PLASMA SKIN REGENERATION?
Plasma skin regeneration (PSR), is a non-laser treatment that uses a device to deliver energy in the form of plasma to rejuvenate skin by improving facial lines and wrinkles (rhytides) and skin pigmentation associated with photoaging.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Plasma Skin Regeneration is not a laser, pulsed light, or radio frequency procedure. Plasma Skin Regeneration has a resurfacing and rejuvenating effect by harnessing thermal energy, which is generated by the sun and naturally present around us all the time. Because the thermal energy released into the skin during a plasma treatment is uniformly absorbed, the treated area experiences incredible collagen and elastin regeneration. The new healthy tissue eventually replaces the wrinkled and weathered skin.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Plasma Skin Regeneration provides rapid healing with minimal pain and down time, producing only mild erythema for a few days post treatment. The observed histopathology shows regeneration of the reticular dermal architecture with relatively low (one to three joules) treatment energy. A full-face procedure can be completed in less than 30 minutes, and regional treatments generally require about 15 minutes. Most treatments are undertaken with topical lidocaine gel with or without pretreatment sedatives. The risks and downtime associated with the procedure is reported to be significantly less than those of traditional laser peels.
